Lawnmower for professional use: Inventor

This project was a part of a bigger multi purpose tool design project we did in Machine Design course II. Design group consisted of three subgroups, each given a smaller component of a project. Aim was to design a light tractor which can do lawn mowing at summer, and snow removal work at winter. In assignment was also stated, that tractor is to be powered by electricity. Our subgroup of three people had responsibility to design tools to be connected into a tractor. My task was design of a lawnmower part. As lawnmower is to be used in a professional environment like parks, we set cutting width  to 1,5m.

Machine has three blades, located so that there remains no shades on a cut lawn. Blades must be synchronized to avoid collision, and this was achieved using two side synchronizing toothed belt.

For this project we had 2 months time to complete.
