Adapter for Dryer: Inventor

This was a final project for Fine mechanics course. In this project also we could choose topic and problem setting freely. I ended up finding an easy solution for boot and shoe drying. This solution utilizes an old PC computer fan and washing machine hose. Using this adapter it is possible to blow PC fan air through washing machine hose into a shoe or boot. Circulating air speeds up drying process. Design process required accurate measurements of PC fan to fit it tightly into an adapter. Originally fan was suppose to be big 120mm diameter but as this was demonstrative purposes only, for reducing material loss in 3D printing model was made to fit 70mm fan.

Resulting air blower is not very efficient. Using bigger fan would increase air volume but as these fans are not designed to blow against resistance, creating a good amount airflow is not possible with this technics.
